Runs everywhere this week were shorter, but cattle prices soared at Valley Stockyard in Moulton, Alabama!! We had 225 head plus the two loads (3-18-26).

Slaughter cattle were steady. We had high dressing slaughter cows up to $2.04 / lb.

Feeders were steady to $10+/ cwt higher.

The two loads of video steers we sold today were based at 650 lbs and brought $4.31 / lb.

We sold some really high lightweight cattle today.

One gentleman sold these groups of light calves below.⬇️ They were crossbred(Brangus) bulls and heifers straight off the cow. He was tickled to death with these figures- his cattle weighed 307 pounds and averaged $1,933 per head!

Here is a breakdown of the groups that he sold:

• 6 head of steers – 338 pounds @ $6.75 / lb

• 8 head of steers – 291 pounds @ $7.11 / lb

• 3 head of steers – 225 pounds @ $7.00 / lb

• 9 head of heifers – 357 pounds @ $5.70 / lb

• 13 head of heifers – 317 pounds @ $6.02 / lb

• 6 head of heifers – 266 pounds @ $6.00 / lb

Maybe next week the weather will be a lot prettier and we will see more cattle around.
