We had a very successful Value-Added Weaned Sale at Valley Stockyard in Moulton, Alabama this week (4/15/26)! We ended up with 932 head in the barn plus the video load, totaling approximately 1,010 head.
This is the largest sale that we have had since Blake and I took over a year and a half ago and the largest that Valley Stockyard has had in many, many years. This was a major milestone for us, and we couldn’t be more thankful, or more excited for what’s ahead!
The entire sale was very strong. Prices remained steady from start to finish.
We want to thank all of our sellers who trusted us to market their drafts of weaned cattle. I feel like they would all agree that they earned a well- deserved and substantial premium for their hard work.
We also want to thank our weekly buyers who always go above and beyond and make it possible to do this- they are the foundation that makes each sale a success. Also, a special thanks to the handful of guest buyers that made it a point to attend in person this week- it is always an honor to have them in our seats.
Also, we want to thank our great team of employees. We got started on cows just after 11, took an hour break after cows, and were able to run the entire 932 head through in just under 5 hours. We are pretty darn proud of that!
